In the basement of a canal house on the Keizersgracht, corner of Berendstraat you will find restaurant De Struisvogel (the Ostrich). The location is small (34 seats), yet cosy and intimate. This is very much appreciated by the many (regular) guests.

Atmosphere
A small, cosy and intimate small cellar on the Keizersgracht, corner of Berendstraat (9 streets). Fantastic food with good wines at a very good price. Everything is small (including the restrooms), but therefore comfy, cosy, and intimate.
De Struisvogel has many regular guests from all over and all ages. The intimate atmosphere in combination with a good price/quality ratio are appreciated. It can therefore be slightly warm and crowded, despite the air conditioning, but that's part of the deal. Recently de Struis also added a (again) small terrace.Restaurant de Struisvogel

You can hire De Struisvogel completely during the day as well as at night. It is an excellent intimate location for, for example, family dinners, jubilees, and other occasions. In consultation a lot is possible.

Recently De Struisvogel added a terrace. The corner of the Keizergracht and the Berendstraat (one of the 9 streets) is an excellent location for a cosy dinner. You are on the edge of the Jordaan and 5 minutes from Dam-square.
The 9 streets are cosy shopping streets which are being discovered by more and more people, including celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Tyra Banks.Opening hours
